Leeds Medical School, Class of 1980

Old dissecting room

The old dissecting room, Leeds Medical School

The dissecting room in the old Medical School, Thoresby Place. The picture was taken in July 1980 after the medical school had moved to the new Worsley Building, but before the old School had been converted for use by the Department of Microbiology.

Though the tables and other equipment had been removed, there were still chalk drawings of head and neck anatomy on the blackboards.

The good-looking young girlfriend in the foreground was clearly impressed by her visit, as she later married a solicitor.
