George Edwin Leuty
 Edwin
was my great-great-grandfather. He married Isabel Matilda and they
had four children: George Leuty (known as "Harry"), Harry
Leuty, Frank Leuty and Arthur Leuty.
He was a wood turner, whose premises were situated in Unicorn
Yard, Brighton. After his death in 1918 (aged about sixty), the
business passed to his son Arthur who transferred it to Castle
Street about 1930 when the original premises were pulled down to
make way for the Regent Cinema.
The photograph was taken at the same time as that of his father
Henry, probably around 1875, when he would have been about seventeen
years old.

His second son Harry was born in March 1883 in Brighton. He
married Ada and they had two children: Harry Leuty and Ted Leuty.
His third son Frank was born in June 1884 in Brighton. He had six
children but they all pre-deceased him.
His fourth son Arthur married Alice and had a son Reg Leuty, who
died in Plymouth in 1970. Reg married Melda and they had a son
Trevor Leuty.

Henry
"Harry" Leuty was my great-great-great-grandfather, and
was probably born in the 1820s. He was
a cap-maker and pedlar who, as a young man, moved to the flourishing
town of Brighton, possibly from Windsor. He married Eliza Bussing
and they had four children: William Leuty, Polly Leuty, Fanny Leuty
and George Edwin Leuty (exact order of birth not known).
